KCFD Shows Off World Cup Gear

Actually seems useful for all manner of events despite constant criticism of the dept. for new toys . . .

At the Kansas City Fire Department’s Medical Bureau on Eastwood Trafficway, the parking lot is full of new vehicles — from ambulances to UTVs.

The fire department on Thursday unveiled six new custom ambulances and 10 new custom upfitted UTVs.

The UTVs give emergency crews flexibility to move through large crowds to get to people who need services a lot easier than a full-size fire truck or ambulance, and they’re equipped with everything a crew could need in case of an emergency.
