KC Road Rage Shooter Suspect Charged

Aftermath report and one more reason to avoid confrontation on local streets . . .

Investigators say the woman and the driver had stopped to help a friend change a flat tire on the highway.

After finishing, the driver told officers he attempted to merge back onto the roadway when a black Ford Fusion with tinted windows - later linked to SUSPECT - was traveling north in the outermost lane.

According to the probable cause statement, the driver merged in front of the suspect’s vehicle.

Police say the Ford Fusion passed him on the left, got in front of him and brake-checked him. The suspect vehicle then slowed and pulled parallel to the passenger side of the Kia.

Court documents state that the woman, seated in the front passenger seat, rolled down her window and asked why the other driver had cut them off.

That is when, according to the driver, the suspect told them to “go ahead and pull over.”

The driver told investigators he then watched the Ford Fusion take a nearby exit ramp. Moments later, he heard around six gunshots and glass shattering . . .

First responders note that the woman sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. As of Wednesday, May 13, she remained in the hospital ICU in critical condition.
