Kansas City Union Station Debuts Berlin Wall Exhibit

Allow us a bit of #TBT sentimentality, this public domain iconic photograph captures the historic fall of the Berlin Wall at the Brandenburg Gate on November 9, 1989. For nearly three decades, the concrete barrier physically and ideologically divided the city into East and West Berlin. Youngster TKC remembers breaking from cartoons to watch the scene and felt just a bit hopeful about the future given how quickly old school ideologies can disappear.

The exhibition "Berlin Wall: A World Divided" is set to open at Union Station, giving visitors an up-close look at one of the most recognizable symbols of the 20th century.

More than 12 tons of the original Berlin Wall are now in Kansas City. A new exhibit opening at Union Station features hundreds of artifacts, personal stories and lessons from one of history's most defining moments.
