"Since 1999, The Brick (1727 McGee St., KCMO) in East Crossroads has been serving food and drinks in front of its small stage. Sure, there are burgers and onion rings, what one expects from a place with vinyl booths and walls covered in Sharpie love notes. But there is also a vegan meatloaf, an apple butter and brie sandwich, and a Kansas City Reuben hot dog. So why should the cocktail menu be any less eclectic?"
