Kansas City Mayor Q Resists World Cup Boozing Amid Security Fear

LAW ENFORCEMENT IS BEHIND MAYOR Q'S EFFORT TO CURTAIL KANSAS CITY 23-HOUR PER DAY BOOZING FOR THE WORLD CUP!!!

In fact . . . 

The ask is a low key policing request amid worsening staffing concerns. 

Even more interestingly . . . 

Law enforcement leaders against 23-hour-a-day boozing are more concerned about locals getting out of control than World Cup Visitor revelry. 

Here's the word form an insider. . . 

"Police aren't worried about World Cup visitors. The move against all-night drinking is REALLY about keeping some of KC's most 'problematic' elements off the street all night. Drinking until 4 in the AM has never worked in KC's favor and doing it for a month-long stretch will likely push policing resources to the breaking point. Yes, we've heard the grumbling from the bar owners but the big picture is more about public safety and protecting our populace." 

With respect to everyone's boozing . . . TKC drinks alone so this issue isn't really our bag . . . And so we ask readers . . .

"I respect fun. I respect freedom. But, Kansas City doesn't need bars operating 23 hours.  I've introduced an item that would leave bar operating hours to their standard operating times (3AM closing for some; 1:30 others; and so on) during the World Cup--rather than the 23 hours permitted by the state.  Worry not, if you want to drink a ton, bars can open quite early. "
