Jackson County Prosecutor Warns of KC World Cup Crime Spike

"Even if there isn’t a significant uptick in crime, the prosecutor’s office will be dealing with different challenges than usual.

"State, local and federal law enforcement agencies have announced they will be making every effort to thwart certain crimes that could increase during the World Cup – such as human trafficking, drug trafficking and fraud.

"Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson said her office is getting ready for a potential increase in a wide range of crimes, and she said her office will hold them accountable."
