In the next 90 days (Adam Hamilton) must assemble his team, find some cash, travel the state, and make his case to an electorate who may never have heard of him. It won’t be impossible: his Democratic opponents aren’t well known either.
But it will be difficult.
You already know Kansas hasn’t had an elected Democratic senator since 1932. Did you know the last time a Dem even came close to the seat was in 1974? Bob Dole barely escaped in that Watergate year.
