We always cringe when politicos summon THE ALMIGHTY in support for their agenda if only because any disagreement regarding clunky earthbound policy necessitates an emotional struggle challenging adherence to conceptions of the divine.
And maybe The Creator doesn't really care about insurance premiums. There doesn't seem to be anything about deductibles in any holy scripture.
Either way . . .
Here's the former Kansas City TV newsman sharing his testimony . . .
(Congressman) Alford boasted Kansas City’s rich history in manufacturing, noting Ford’s first assembly plant outside Detroit was in this city, which has become a building place for America’s best-selling truck the Ford F-150.
But then, he transitioned to a more serious topic.
“Sadly, I think America is more divided than we have been since the Civil War, and Jesus said in Matthew 12:25 a house divided against itself will not stand.”
Alford encouraged the people in the audience to renew their faith and turn back to God, as it’s the only cure for today’s political division.
“You know, some 40 years ago Ronald Reagan had the remedy when he spoke words to this effect: the time has come for us to reassert our trust in God.
“The time has come for us to realize that we need Him more than He needs us. The time has come to turn to God for the healing of America.”
