Clay Chastain Press Release
A Historic Petition Drive to Revive Kansas City around Affordable Clean Transportation (Citywide Airport Monorail, Central Union Station Transportation Center & other Green, Clean & Interconnected Mobility Options) has reached its goal thanks to a super great weekend of signature gathering @ the Brookside Arts Fair.
Brookside Residents are informed. Brookside residents Vote. The Great Brookside Neighborhood is what's left of a Once Great City. Brookside Voters have signed in support of a (transformational) transportation initiative. Brookside Voters are a Bellwether reflecting Public support for a new Initiative that will not only transform Kansas City into an Affordable, Livable, Sustainable & Growing Mid-America City, but will also send an unmistakable signal to Mayor Lucas & City Hall that we are a City governed by the people - not a City governed by the Elite (mostly Johnson County Residents who use KCMO as an entertainment playground to further enrich themselves).
Mayor Lucas & previous KC Mayors & City Councils share a dark history of sabotaging Petitions (and even overturning a 2006 Light Rail Initiative Election that was officially commanded by '75 Thousand' KC Voters) in order to overpower the people, control the people & keep the people from deciding big issues that affect them and the City itself like the (current) $2 billion Downtown Stadium proposal. Even Jeff City legislators are trying to undermine & put limitations on America's All American Democratic Petition Process because those in power are afraid of losing control over the people. The people of Kansas City & the State of Missouri emboldened themselves with the means (Petition process) to go around the government when the government is out of order. It does not matter, Mayor Lucas, if your governmental administration thinks this Citywide Monorail Petition is a bad idea because KC's (Heroic) Judge Holliger ruled in 1996 that..."the people are entitled to rule well or bad as are elected officials". Furthermore, the Missouri Supreme Court ruled in 2014 that KC's Government must place valid Petition questions before the voters without delay & without deliberate distortion of the Petition Ordinance.
Change is coming.
