We're not certain if KCI is completely a kickball play . . . However . . . The newspaper estimate is probably more accurate than that FAKE 650K VISITORS number . . . Check-it . . .

"No place in America has more riding on this summer’s World Cup soccer games than Kansas City, Mo. 

"The Kansas City metro area, with about 2.2 million residents, is the smallest of the 16 cities hosting in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Over the past 15 years, the region has poured $650 million into building world-class training facilities and stadiums in an effort to become America’s soccer capital.

"The city had a budget of $165 million for the World Cup tournament. After winning the bid in June 2022, Kansas City built a new airport, leased 200 buses to shuttle guests, renovated the Chiefs’ National Football League stadium to make room for soccer’s corner kicks, and sent officials on international tours to market the city as a World Cup destination . . ."
