"The lawsuit, filed in 2023 by former Attorney General Andrew Bailey, alleges deceptive pricing practices at Dollar General stores across Missouri. With current Attorney General Catharine Hanaway now leading the office, the case is set for trial in late July 2026.
"The state’s case stems from a joint investigation by the attorney general’s office and the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Weights and Measures Division. Inspectors visited 147 Dollar General stores across Missouri and price-checked over 50 products ranging from toilet paper to lemonade to lip balm. If two items had price discrepancies, the store failed inspection. "
