Credit where it's due . . . The latest numbers are encouraging . . .

However . . . It's also important to know that Springtime & Summer are typically the roughest months of the year in terms of violence . . . Even worse . . . The numbers usually don't drop until winter. 

Still . . .

For now . . . Here's where we stand . . .  

 Kansas City police reported a 93% clearance rate for homicide cases so far this year, far exceeding the national average of 61%.

The department also reported a 30% drop in homicides compared to this time last year.
