Kansas City Kitty Season Starts

Today's important reminder to responsible feline supporters . . .

Kitten season is often a stressful time for shelters due to the large influx of kittens produced by community cats that aren't fixed. Great Plains SPCA says they've seen an uptick in kittens this year, and the season started a bit earlier.

One unspayed female cat and her kittens can produce up to 400 cats in just seven years. In order to help control the feline population, the shelter is spreading the word about its TNR Program, which stands for Trap, Neuter and Release.

The program encourages people to bring in community cats that aren't spayed or neutered . . .
