Kansas City Faith Scribe: Criticism Strengthens U.S. At 250

Local scribe Bill Tammeus finds flaws but also offers hope . . . Here's the point of his constant critique: 

"Criticism can be what makes the country better because the very process points to where it’s failing to live up to its ideals as well as to the profoundly important aspirations included in its founding documents. And criticism is a sign that we care, that we love our country, that we want it to work better and for all, not just for some.

"And, of course, 'all' includes descendants of the Indigenous people victimized by cultural and physical genocide by many of our first European invaders, to say nothing of the slaves dragged to this land starting in the early 1600s even before we were a nation."
