For us and our critical discourse regarding Kansas City politicos, the takeaway is clear . . . 

At this late date it's important to realize that online discourse has yet to display any real leverage in real world, street level urban politics.

The local winners played it simple . . .

Logistics and A GROUND GAME proved far more effective in winning a low turnout contest. 

The rub . . . 

For big money votes . . . Organizers also outspent any semblance of resistance with spammy social media adverts at every turn.  

And so . . .

The fundamentals of local politics . . . Organizing and fundraising still seem to rule the day despite so much hope for liberation by way of technology.
