Again . . . Given the current state of the world and so many military demands confronting the U.S., this local collective bargaining beef has become more important . . . The latest:
Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) said they will continue to strike at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.
According to information provided by the Union, the majority of workers decided Olin Corp.’s offer did not address key issues. The union said workers are demanding:
Better pay
Improved working conditions
Relief from “excessive mandatory” overtime
The union also said the latest offer minimal changes from a previous proposal that was also rejected.
