Clueless Kansas City Considers Moving 71 Underground

Taking a long, exhausted sigh before sharing this note . . . 

KANSAS CITY COMMUNITY FORUMS FOR 71 HAVE CONSISTENTLY PROPOSED THE STUPIDEST IDEAS THIS COWTOWN HAS EVER CONSIDERED!!!

It's like they consider what an engineer might do with the space and come up with the exact opposite plan that's MORE likely to get people killed. 

Longtime local denizens might remember this silly community forum idea is the same way the so many East Side "leaders" developed the horrific highway stoplights that have created nonstop tragedy for decades. 

Now . . . 

Here's a peek at the new plan that is the setup for some future disaster movie . . .  

"A city team focused on improving U.S. Highway 71 has proposed moving the roadway below ground level, creating narrower lanes and building overpasses to connect neighborhoods east to west. The highway’s construction tore through majority-Black neighborhoods in east Kansas City decades ago."
