Will New KC Tenants Boss Turn Activists Even More Radical?!?

Actually . . . We notice the group with a bit less enthusiasm after a defeat downtown and housing shortage that makes locals less eager to risk everything in the name of solidarity. 

But here's the latest news from one of KC's rising star movements . . .  

KC Tenants celebrated seven years of organizing and announced a long-planned leadership transition from Founding Director Tara Raghuveer to incoming Director and longtime leader/organizer Jenay Manley . . . 

"Our union is all of us. There will never be a single shot-caller. Our power is in our collective. It is with this knowledge, and with the trust of our union, that I am proud to continue stewarding our fight in my new role as Director. I am as committed today as I was the day I joined for my first meeting. Long live our union."

Now . . .

For those who don't remember . . . Ms. Manley was very close to earning a council victory but voters found here politics just a bit too leftist to endorse . . . Here's a video from an early opponent that seemed to resonate with many voters . . .
