–These closures are part of Wendy’s U.S. turnaround plan, Project Fresh.
–According to a February story in industry publication QSR, the chain anticipated 5 to 6 percent of U.S. restaurants would close, which will number in the hundreds (28 units shut down in the fourth quarter of 2205, the rest were scheduled to close in the first half of 2026).
--Wendy’s said 2026 will be a rebuilding year.
