With the Royals' lease at Kauffman Stadium set to expire after the 2031 season, team owner John Sherman said the selection of a new ballpark site will be "sooner rather than later".
"We're working very diligently on multiple opportunities. And, you know, it's always dangerous to set a deadline. But I would tell you, I think the pace is picking up," Sherman said before the Royals' home opener Monday.
