KC Symphony Scheme ALMOST Explained

Our newsie betters seem to think this is a big deal . . . Movie collab play-alongs were a fun holiday season attraction and now the best way to get future generations interested in the classics . . . Check-it: 

"The idea is to generate income for the orchestra by attracting live music events from out of town. The orchestra will not be abandoning its home at Helzberg Hall in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, but it might perform some pop concerts at the new venue, including film scores it performs live while films are projected onstage on a large screen.

"Sources say plans call for a venue with a seating capacity of between 4,000 and 5,000, which would be more than twice the capacity of Helzberg Hall, which seats 1,600."

Riverside's Morton Amphitheater was announced in October 2024, and opens its inaugural season this summer with an absolutely packed lineup of shows featuring Rod Stewart, Kesha, Guns 'n' Roses, Pitbull, and more.
