Kansas City Late Night Urban Flooding Risk Amid Storms

Tornado sirens awoke most of our old school readers near midnight . . .

TKC is a night owl so we weren't really surprised . . . And so, we simply share a cowtown scumbag truism that local news doesn't really like talking about . . .

STREETS FLOOD in urban Kansas City almost every time it rains and tonight there are more than a few streets blocked. Southwest Trafficway near 37th Street has temporarily turned into a small lake to it'll be wise to avoid that part of town until the rain stops . . . We also noticed several streets down to one lane along the Westside and going into the Crossroads . . .

For those venturing out late or early . . . The best advice is not to underestimate the depth of so many streets covered in water. And stay safe.

MSM weather says the storm & tornado threat should end about 4 in the AM.

Here's more local news coverage that's focused more on tornadoes . . .

"Almost the entire KCTV5 area is under a Tornado Watch. Our northwestern counties and western border counties are in a tornado watch until 12 am. Tornado Watch for our south and southwest counties continues until 1am. We expect this to be extended until 4am. The KC metro and remainder of the area remain until 4 AM Saturday morning."

UPDATE . . . About 1:30 in the AM the rain seems to have stopped the sketchy KCMO sewers are slowly doing their jorb . . .
