Kansas City Kemper Arena Remembered

Quick late night history lesson and a video that offers a bit of cowtown backstory and seems to be gaining traction online . . . The clip was pretty great and we garnered a few fun facts that we didn't know . . .

Here are the basics . . .

"Kemper Arena, located in Kansas City's West Bottoms and built in 1974, was transformed into Hy-Vee Arena in 2018 following a $39 million renovation. Originally designed by Helmut Jahn as a 19,500-seat venue, it now serves as a multi-level amateur sports complex with 12 hardwood courts, dining, and retail. The historic building is known for its exterior steel trusses and formerly hosted the NBA’s Kings, the American Royal, and the 1976 Republican National Convention."
