Apropos for this era in American politics . . . We shouldn't expect much out of the bus in the very near future given less cash to maintain routes.
Never mind that money awarded to "transit orientated development" continues to move quickly and local, politically connected suits have to wait as long as po'folk on street corners.
For now, here's the cover story . . .
"A preliminary budget approved by the Kansas City, Missouri Finance Committee is raising alarms among city leaders and transit advocates, who warn it may fall short of what’s needed to sustain current bus operations.
"If no changes are made, routes could be reduced and some drivers could lose their jobs.
"While the budget is not yet final, city leaders say the time to make adjustments is running out."
