"Since news of the incident spread, very few details have been released about what led up to the incident. However, newly obtained court records paint a clearer picture of the attack.
"Court records say she suffered a 5-inch wide and half-inch deep laceration to the front of her neck, and received both internal and external stitches to close the wound.
"She told officers that she remembered sitting at a picnic table and felt a hard blow to the side of her head, forcing her off the bench and onto the ground.
"She claimed to have thought it was a ball, but saw people running to her and screaming. She then saw blood pouring from her neck and pooling onto the ground.
"Court records say several other witnesses reported SUSPECT acting strange, agitated and aggressive in the moments leading up to the attack. They also said that, following the stabbing, he ran across North Ridgeview Road and into a nearby neighborhood.
"It was also noted that he continued to make comments like: 'You made me stab her,' or 'it’s the police department’s fault.' "
