Port KC Submits To Activist Pressure Against ICE Detention Facility

The local economic development agency attempts to move away from ongoing controversy and a great deal of protester hateration against a potential Kansas City illegal immigrant lockup.

"Port KC is set to discuss the issue at its meeting Monday, where board members will consider a resolution directing the agency to stop negotiating with Platform Ventures for the sale of any additional properties in the surrounding area known as 49 Crossing.

"Port KC transferred ownership of the massive warehouse to Platform Ventures in 2022. The property is valued at more than $60 million. "
