"The UG Planning Commission passed a resolution with a 4-2 vote in favor of a two-year moratorium on all special-use permit applications for penal or correctional facilities. The ordinance now awaits the board of commissioners' judgement. This motion stems from Commissioner Christian Ramirez (3rd District), who proposed the ordinance on Jan. 21."
