"It has taken a long, long time to try to get rid of the assumptions inherent in what white supremacy stands for, and for sure we Americans have made progress with that task but nowhere near enough. Otherwise why would President Trump, earlier in this Black History Month, have posted on social media a vision of former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes?
"There is something profoundly unwell about someone today who would do that . . ."
