Kansas City Streetcar Honcho Denies Inevitable World Cup Breakdown

This winter, the streetcar couldn't run consistently in snow . . . The toy train has broken down every Summer for a few years . . . Now, with crowds on their way . . . We share a peek at this implicit promise:  

"With more than 650,000 people estimated to flood Kansas City this summer for the World Cup, you’re not alone if you’re wondering how the metro area will handle it.

"Normally the line runs about eight cars doing an average of 11,000 trips a day. But Tom Gerend, executive director of Kansas City Streetcar Authority, said the entire fleet actually has 14 streetcars and can perform up to 50,000 trips a day."

"Gerend said he’s confident they’re up for the job."
