Today the newspaper runs another column from an award-winning newsie who only thinks in terms of the political and absolutely ignores pressing KCMO public safety issues.
In fact . . .
The column about Dems vs. The Missouri GOP completely forgets that what we're actually debating is finding QUALIFIED LOCAL RESIDENTS LIKE HEATHER HALL to effectively manage and protect dangerous KCMO streets and the help the people on the front lines.

Republicans will nominate someone else — another loyalist, another safe pick — and Kansas City will remain what it has been for generations: a city policed by a department it does not control, overseen by a board it does not choose.
"Given all that, it’s hard to blame if Nurrenbern and the Senate Democrats wanted to use some leverage to exact a little revenge now that the Senate is back in session."
