Kansas City Royals Tease New Stadium Deal

This would be a bigger news story if the home team hadn't said the same thing about half a dozen times previously . . . Still, here's the team owner repeating himself for spring training . . . Check-it:

Speaking to reporters in Surprise, Arizona, as the Royals Spring Training is underway, Sherman claimed the team hasn’t settled anywhere yet, but said “I don’t think we’re that far away.”

“When the Chiefs made this announcement, there was a whole new wave of enthusiasm,” Sherman said after being asked about Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’ renewed support for a ballpark at Washington Square Park near Union Station. “We’re still evaluating Kansas, and we’re still evaluating multiple locations in Missouri, but I do appreciate the effort that’s being put forth, not only by the Mayor, but by the government.”

Sherman called the process for a stadium deal complicated, as the Royals attempt to find a home when their lease expires at Kauffman Stadium.
