Kansas City Mayor Q Doubles Down Against ICE Detention Facility

Here's our skeptical context which realizes that every successful elected official realizes that politics is the art of the possible and has very little to do with the many silly things that voters hold dear.  

Mayor Q has garnered national media attention and even greater ascendancy in the Democratic Party infrastructure with the help of protesters freezing their buns off during bone-chilling winter protests.  

Activist outcry against an impending Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility has hit a crescendo and now seems to be fading. 

In the aftermath, here's Mayor Q getting the last word and hoping to ride this wave of public sentiment to even greater glory . . .  Check-it: 

Mayor Quinton Lucas thinks that the moratorium is going to be an “important stop gap, at least for a little while,” but also believes the federal government could try to challenge the ordinance.

“This is something I'm not pretending that it wouldn't end up in federal district court. I imagine it could end up in federal court," Lucas said. "We welcome that type of review because, frankly, I think that this is worth standing against, and if we get to be the example of an American city doing it, and if we have to fight it for years, I'm willing to do that.”
