Kansas City Budget Meetup Snubs South Side

The latest example is the budget hearings the City is hosting so they can hear and get input from its citizens. They have scheduled several around the city to supposedly make it more convenient for people to attend.

HOWEVER, Hickman Mills United Neighborhoods, a group representing the area from 87th Street to 470 Highway and Raytown Road to Hillcrest Road holds its regular meetings on the fourth Monday, which just happens to be the same night the City has decided to hold a budget hearing in Hickman Mills.

You would think the fifth district council persons representing the area, Darrell Curls and Ryanna Parks-Shaw, both of whom are running for re-election – city council and mayor respectively – would have taken notice and said something.
