Kansas City 2026 Homicide #13: Gunfire Kills East Side Man

This morning we notice a followup report on a recent shooting and the third homicide so far this week. 

Here is the info that police are sharing with local media . . .  

Homicide 6000 Block of Blue Hills Rd. - LATE DEATH

Last night just after 8pm officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of E 59th Ter. on a shooting call. The caller advised there was a person outside that appeared to be injured and needed help. 

On arrival officers located an adult male shooting victim in front of a residence there. The victim told officers he had been shot at a nearby location near an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Blue Hills Rd. The victim was unable to provide any additional information regarding suspects. 

Officers called for EMS who transported the victim to the hospital with life threatening injuries. 

Additional officers responded to the area described by the victim in the 6000 block of Blue Hills Rd and located evidence of a crime scene at that location. 

Detectives and Crime Scene investigators began conducing investigation and processing the scene for evidence. 

Later in the evening detectives were notified from the hospital that the victim was declared deceased from his injuries. Homicide detectives have taken over this investigation and this is now being investigated as a homicide.

If anyone was in the area of the apartment complex or area to the north and heard or saw anything or has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.

One dead after shooting at apartment complex in Kansas City

One person was killed in a shooting in the Citadel neighborhood of Kansas City on Wednesday evening, and homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
