"With a new anti-transgender law set to take effect this week, Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach has moved to voluntarily dismiss his lawsuit against Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly's administration over enforcement of a predecessor law . . .
"The new law also addresses gender marker changes on birth certificates and restricts bathroom use by transgender people, but those issues were not part of Kobach's lawsuit over SB 180."
