"Representatives Emanuel Cleaver and Sharice Davids each sent letters to Kristi Noem sharing concerns over safety and the lack of transparency involved in the projects.

"In the letter from Cleaver, the congressman set a February 27 deadline for the Department of Homeland Security to answer a list of questions. This time he wants the answers in person . . .

"On the other side of the state line, Rep. Davids sent her own request. In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, Davids said she opposed ICE facilities in both Leavenworth and Kansas City, Mo."
