Clay Chastain Vows To Save Kansas City Royals With His Last Petition

A note from a friend of the blog and this town's longstanding transit activist . . . 

Chastain embarks on his Final Petition Quest to rescue KC & keep the Royals in KC. Rescue?  

In 1970, KC was a relatively safe City - today, one of America's most dangerous. In 1970, 75 K students were enrolled in KC public schools - today, 15k. In 1970, KC's population was 507 K - today (even with the annexation of the northland), the same. In 1950 KC had one of America's best & most used transit systems - today, one of America's worst & least used. In 2026 KC is in imminent danger of losing the Franchise that Brett built. Why an Initiative? Because we know Mayor Lucas & the Council have no 'Futuristic Plan' to save the City or the Royals.

The City's Fire has been going out for decades. The 'Smart Green Initiative' proposes revolutionary infrastructure improvements that will couple with a New & Charming Royals  Stadium in Washington Park to "rescue" Kansas City.  

In KC, owning an expensive car is a necessity - not a choice. Move to KC & you have to buy a car, and @ a time when 50% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Car Overkill is killing the City's livability & affordability. Hence, the Initiative seeks to make KC more livable, affordable, equitable & desirable by equipping it with a new System of Green Affordable Mobility Options that converge @ a New Regional Multi-Modal Transportation Center @ Union Station. 

Washington Park would be the New Royals' Ballpark District that could be conveniently accessed by....the New Airport Monorail, The City's Streetcar System, New Electric Buses, Metro Express Buses, Greenways & Amtrak (all across the way @ Union Station. KC would have two new dynami selling points to attract new residents, tourists & businesses: (1) The most advanced Transport System in America & (2) The best Transit - oriented Downtown Ballpark in America.

Voters might ask themselves this question...Do I want to stand by & watch my City's "Fire" go out completely & our City lose the Royals too,, or do I want to Vote for a Grassroots Vision to establish Smart & Green Mobility Options, keep the Royals in KC & Set the Town on "Fire"?
