We suspect the story was planted by Mayor Q's team in order to give progressive leaders a bit more leverage and attention from the rest of the nation amid this trending wave of progressive protest against ICE that seems to be moving the dial with moderate Republicans and more "liberty" minded conservatives who have never really loved MAGA.
Still . . .
We respect the cover story antic and word of a comms deal that probably isn't much more useful than text messaging . . . Here's the word:
"Kansas City has received $42,000 from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of a little-noticed agreement between the city and the federal immigration agency. The agreement, revealed in federal government spending records reviewed by The Star, runs from September 2024 to May 2026. The payments, which have been obligated, allow the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE access to a multi-agency law enforcement radio network known as the Metropolitan Area Regional Radio System (MARRS), according to a city spokesperson."
