UMKC Student Activists Demand Safety Statement Against ICE

Five days after her death, the university has not released a public statement or clarified what safety protocols are in place if ICE agents are present on or near campus.

“UMKC could say no ICE on our campus. They could use their power to protect their students and our community, but they just choose not to,” said Brynne Musser, PhD graduate student in economics at UMKC. “Their silence tells me they fear repercussions more than they value their students, their former students, or their community.”
