A law that allowed the Missouri attorney general to appeal temporary blocks to state laws and changed the ballot language review process in court is unconstitutional, the Missouri Supreme Court ruled unanimously in an opinion handed down Friday.

The Supreme Court found that the law, Senate Bill 22, violated the Missouri Constitution's original purpose requirement, which prohibits bills from being amended during passage in a way that changes their original purpose.
