Prosecutor Refutes Kansas City Anti-Police Protest Movement?!?

We want to take a moment to highlight what might be a turning point in the ongoing conversation about law enforcement in Kansas City because insiders tell us this weeks' news merits attention.

Here's the word . . .

"Hey TKC, you really need to give the JaxCo prosecutor Melesa Johnson some credit. She not only did the right thing in refusing to charge another cop that was a target of BLM protesters but also she obviously had to stand up to pressure from activists and progressive leaders who mistakenly are still promoting their ACAB, anti-police, defunding nonsense."

Obviously . . . Agree or disagree . . . We think that message sent our way is worthwhile. But the question goes even deeper . . .

As newsies ponder the decision , we notice the power & influence of local left-wing progressive protesters fading despite so much local anti-MAGA sentiment.

The bigger question . . .

Are so many Kansas City progressives FINALLY abandoning their anti-police rhetoric?!?

Or at least shifting their against against ICE and not local po-po . . .

The tone of ensuing news coverage from KCUR & the Star signals the fight isn't quite over. BUT, the decision from the Prosecutor MIGHT be a glimpse that local Democratic Party leadership has more important priorities.

Of course . . .

We'll share the other side of this argument so readers can decide for themselves . . .

"When Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced the decision not to file charges against a Kansas City police officer in a 2023 triple shooting that left two dead, she cited Missouri’s use-of-force law. Legal and police accountability experts’ opinions ranged on the decision, with some saying that it was understandable given the law. Others said that the shooting is seemingly an extreme case and that charges might have been justifiable."
