Charlotte O'Hara is a long-shot candidate for Guv in Kansas but right now she's a leading local commentator and one of the fieriest critics of a deal favoring BILLIONAIRE Clark Hunt.
Many might not agree with her politics but there is no doubt she's ON POINT with her analysis of this deal:
"I have been researching the Unified Government's 2026 budget documents and it's not a pretty picture. Median value of a home in Wyandotte County sky rocketed 40% from $160,000 to $224,000 in 2024 with property taxes increasing in tandem. Sales tax revenues are flat and the use tax collected at the race track and West Village are projected to decline from $18 million (2025) to $12 million for 2026. An EYE POPPING 30% decline. Just where is the incremental increase of KCK and Wyandotte County sales tax going to come from to pay for the Chiefs' $2.775 billion Star Bond deal (projected to cost at least $6 billion with interest)?"
