Missouri State Senator Flexes Against Appointment To Kansas City Police Board

What should have been a routine process has now been totally politicized amid this divisive American political climate.

First thing:

Former Council lady Heather Hall belongs on the Kansas City Police Board. She is a longtime local resident, profoundly qualified and an expert in understanding police & community issues.

However . . .

Missouri Democratic Party leaders are picking a DUMB FIGHT in order to, again, argue about local control . . . Even if former council lady Heather Hall is, in fact, VERY LOCAL

And . . . Even worse . . .

Missouri Democratic Party leaders attempting to turn the Kansas City Police Board into a partisan battleground is misguided and ignores more important public safety concerns.

In fact . . .

As we move along into this midterm year, it's our contention that playing politics with public safety might be the STUPIDEST tack Missouri Democrats could take . . .

Don't get it twisted . . . TKC politics is only categorized by trolls who don't know us . . .

There are plenty of reasons to push back against the Jeff City GOP . . . Their abortion policy can't even convince most Republican women in Missouri. The 2026 gerrymandering effort garnered EPIC resistance and seems to be failing . . . Meanwhile, healthcare & infrastructure have suffered serious setbacks in Missouri under Republican rule . . . Missouri Republicans have also declared war against teachers and librarians with a series of culture war efforts & that seem oppressive and exactly the opposite of "small government" ideals . . .

And so . . . With so many options to challenge voters in ways that might resonate with the electorate going into midterms . . . The unpopular fight against police and their supporters takes center stage . . .

And so, IMBECILIC & OBTUSE STRATEGY LIKE TRYING TO MAKE A VILLAIN OUT OF A POLICE WIFE is why the Missouri Dems continue to stay out of power and constantly flounder as a super-minority in a state that has voted for both legal weed and abortion rights.

Here's more of the damage . . .

State Sen. Maggie Nurrenbern (D-North Kansas City) says she will not sponsor Heather Hall’s nomination to the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners.

Now, Nurrenbern states that she wants the Governor’s appointment withdrawn.

“Due to Mrs. Hall’s personal connections to the police department and her voting record while serving on the Kansas City Council, she is not the most qualified candidate to fulfill the duties aforementioned,” Nurrenbern wrote in a letter to Governor Mike Kehoe.
