Let's Start With Kansas City 2026 Resolutions

After all the local fireworks and celebratory gunfire . . .

Let's consider what the near future might look like . . .

For this blog . . .

- We've been wanting to do more video.

- Podcasts are fun but watching a bunch of dudes blathering on for an hour is just "too much" and we think we might have some better ideas.

- The long form fad has already died out given that AI writes everything nowadays. BUT there are a few "more substantial" ideas that we need to find a place for . . .

-  As always . . . We're working on a new design and the comment system is far from perfect or what we've envisioned. A form of this blog that can be updated from bed would be PERFECT

- Funny but we've been a bit more "tardy" with updates and it's actually caused blog traffic to INCREASE. Still, early morning/late night updates make us happy . . . Even if it's just a few items.

As for FAR MORE IMPORTANT KANSAS CITY RESOLUTIONS . . .

- It's time to stop mythologizing pro-sports. The teams obviously have no loyalty to any city or fans. They'll take the best deal no matter of the economic suffering it inflicts; it's time to start treating them the same way in return.

- The most disappointing thing we noticed last year was local leaders claiming "progress" after record-breaking deadly violence has been normalized. KC has a long way to go to achieve safer streets and the illusion of advancement by way of political payouts and more clever rhetoric is a poor substitute for emphasizing the real work that the lies ahead.

- There should be more skepticism of the protester & chattering classes . . . Here at TKC we're not trying to convince ANYBODY . . .

TKC DOESN'T CARE HOW YOU VOTE!!!

There have been less than five outright endorsements in the history of this blog.

What we do care about is offering some perspective on so many local operatives at work from curmudgeonly trolls to "mostly peaceful" demonstrators . . . What we think locals should understand is that very little of the current discourse is organic and more and more "discussion" comes by way of AI bots and all manner of hacks paid to push a cause . . .

Clandestine operatives have always had their place in American politics but now tech and more desperate economic times make it a bit more obvious and important to joke about . . .

The upside and easy tell . . .

The paid hacks & bots NEVER have anything genuinely funny to say . . . It's always just mean garbage at the behest of their masters.

Meanwhile . . . As time moves on . . . The greatest reward for writing TKC is finding a place for the lulz no matter how mediocre, amateurish or cringe.

And while we search for a few more items for today's update . . .

We invite www.TonysKansasCity.com readers to share their own 2026 resolutions for themselves or this cowtown.

You decide . . .
