Charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the shooting, according to court documents.
Prosecutors said that he shot and killed his neighbor, Chris Wells, 41, on Monday morning near NE 78th Street and North Wabash Avenue in the Maplewoods Estates neighborhood.
According to court documents, officers responded to a reported shooting around 7:30 a.m. and found the victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Tuesday, Kansas City 2nd District At-Large Councilwoman Lindsay French said she started hearing about incidents in this neighborhood this past summer. She says both she and her colleagues were working with KCPD and the HOA to try to deescalate things between King and his neighbors.
