Leavenworth has fought an extensive legal battle with ICE and not only delayed the facility but also earned a bit more courtroom clarity on neighborhood zoning.
And so . . .
We look to the Mayor's statement on FB and follow-up reporting regarding an issue that our TKC blog community raise FIRST . . . Check-it:
"Today, Kansas City took action to center our community’s priorities in future development. A five-year moratorium on mass detention facilities ensures our focus stays on building businesses, homes, and schools, not large-scale detention centers . . .
"This comes after reports that Kansas City is being considered for a mass detention facility that could hold up to 10,000 people."
