In a recent book review he offers resources, local history and this important sentiment . . .
"The persistent call on people of faith to love their neighbors and to be generous with what they have may help solve some of this, for sure. But if we simply respond to one emergency after another and ignore the system that creates homelessness for profit, much of that emergency response will be wasted.
"We need government officials willing to break and then recreate a more humane system. Now."
