Kansas City Faith Blogger Mourns 9/11 & Christian Nationalism

It's fair to dispute the politics of his post but newsman Bill Tammeus has dutifully delivered readers a powerful perspective regarding the long-lasting impact of an American tragedy . . . Here's the word: 

"False certitude in religion has led to disaster over and over from the origins of humankind — and it has arisen from many faith traditions, including Christianity. One current good example of that is Christian Nationalism in its most destructive forms, which hold tightly to the bogus idea that God has somehow uniquely blessed the United States.

"So it turns out that counting the 9/11 damage — in bodies, in buildings, in broken relationships, in our more fearful nation — now is a more extended task, and one that won’t end for a long time."
