Kansas City 2026 Homicide #6: Deadly Gunfire Erupts During Brawl

What looks like more domestic drama kills another victim in Kansas City today. 

Meanwhile, it seems our homicide count continues to keep pace with previous years under Mayor Q's tenure in what have proven to be the deadliest years in modern KCMO history.

Right now, here's the info that police are sharing with media . . .  

Homicide 8700 blk Chestnut Cir. 

This afternoon, just before 2:00 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 8700 block of Chestnut Circle on a reported shooting. 

As officers arrived they were directed to a parking lot within the apartment complex. There they located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers began performing life saving measures while KCFD EMS arrived simultaneously. Medics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. 

This is being investigated as a homicide. The officers on scene took a subject of interest into custody pending further investigation. Preliminary information revealed there was a disturbance in the parking lot between several individuals that led to shots being fired and the victim being struck. Investigators and crime scene personnel are canvassing the area for witnesses, physical evidence, and surveillance footage.
