The Kansas leader has been out of office for 8 years . . . Nearly a decade . . . And yet, local "opinion leader" Dave Helling offers yet another comparison in support of higher taxes . . . Here's the money line:
Kehoe revealed details of his plan to phase out the state’s income tax. Uh oh.
It’s a really, really bad idea, the worst idea since Gov. Sam Brownback tried something similar in Kansas. And it may do to Kehoe what the “experiment” did to Brownback – chase him out of office ahead of time, his career in ruins, while the state’s finances collapse.
First, a summary: Kehoe wants the state to vote, this year, on a five-year plan to phase out the income tax and replace it with … something. He seemed to suggest expanding the sales tax to new goods and services, which will somehow bring in more money.
